Why you shouldn’t take accounting advice from your mate in the pub.

As the season of goodwill approaches, more of us will be enjoying a night out, perhaps at the pub. 

As accountants, it is surprising how many clients tell us about bits of tax advice that they have received from their pals while on a night out. Such as "my friend said that they had put the cost of their summer holiday through the business and said it was ok to say you were at a 'conference'. 

Paying for professional advice isn't cheap (nor should it be), but you could end up paying way more if you take advice from a friend who thinks they know better! You can find out some more insights in this blog post.
