Every UK company must have its own Registered Office. This acts as a mailing address for all Companies House and HMRC Corporation Tax documents, and is displayed publically with Companies House. You also need to show this address on all company documents (letterheads, sales invoices, purchase orders and your website).
Please note : we are only able to offer a registered office address to clients where we also prepare annual accounts for the company. We do not offer a registered office service as a ‘stand alone’ service.
When people start a business, they often use their own home address as the Registered Office. This can lead to an increase in junk business mail and also means that your customers can find out where you live. It’s a good idea to keep your business and personal life separate (particularly if you’d rather folk didn’t learn the address of your five bedroom mansion…!).
If you don’t want to use your own premises as your registered office address then we can supply one for you. If your company is registered in Scotland, then this will be our Edinburgh office address. If your company has been registered in England, then you’ll need to have an English address as your registered office. We can arrange this for you through one of our partners.
We’ll receive all your statutory company notices and forward these onto you. We can also forward on or destroy any junk mail as you request.
As a director of a company you’ll also need to disclose a Service Address which will be on the public record at Companies House. By default this is your home address. If you don’t want your private address to be used then we can help: if you subscribe to our Service Address service you can use our office as your service address.
