Our Associate Director Cat has been destined for accountancy since Primary 7 – but her taste in music is far less predictable!
What do you do for One Accounting?
I am an assistant Director at One Accounting. I support the senior directors in meeting company goals and help with long term strategy. I look after my own portfolio of clients with support from their client manager. I am also a client manager, working closely with the directors on more complex clients. Being part of the senior team, I am function head of Sales so I look after a lot of prospects and onboarding too.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
Speaking to clients. I love it! When you explain something to a client and see it click or help them demonstrate something they wanted to get to grips with, it’s so rewarding. Getting to know their business and their families, their dogs names, favourite holidays- it’s a total privilege. We set goals at Onboarding and I am always excited to see how those change as companies evolve.
What have you liked most about joining One Accounting?
The team are great. The opportunities for me here have been amazing. I was trusted to get on with my work and put my own spin on it from day 1. I have a lot of responsibility, a voice here, and it keeps me on my toes!
Got a favourite work app?
Xero obviously! We are looking at new software for our own practice management at the moment and I am excited to see that in action.
If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you would buy?
I’d buy a house overlooking the sea.
What did you want to be when you were little?
Forensic scientist for a bit. However, on my primary 7 leavers certificate I said ‘an accountant’. That’s quite sad actually…
What’s your favourite food?
Tie breaker between steak and salmon. Difficult question though! My mum’s chicken broccoli is the dream, that deserves a mention.
And your favourite song?
Depends on the week, day and time! I have a very varied music taste ranging from 50 Cent to Taylor Swift to the Beatles. Not allowed to pick music in the car, that is usually Disney or Baby Shark..
How do you like to spend your free time?
I love to spend time with family and friends. My two girls keep me super busy. They are so much fun and have a lot of energy! I like walking and doing home work outs too. A night out with my husband and/ or friends is high up on the list too!
What’s your favourite place in the world?
Love going on holiday with my family. I mean, if they happened to be in an all inclusive 5 star resort, then so be it! I am very fond of Vienna as well. I went for my 30th.
Tell us something about you that might surprise people!
I really like the Eurovision contest. I always feel GREAT with a (fake) tan!
